New Townhouses at Knott Mill

The city centre is to get a clutch of new town houses for sale – and they are going to be spectacular.

The seven properties, designed by architect Andrew Ince, will occupy a site in the historic Knott Mill neighbourhood and be developed by his company In Fill Developments.

We have been working with Andrew for some time and are delighted to have been appointed as sales agents to bring the development to market next year.

Set over four stories the properties will have large garages, a spacious hallway, open plan living/dining/kitchen and four bedrooms. Each has its own top floor sun room and private roof terrace and with sizes ranging between 2,100sq ft and 3,100sq ft there is scope for some to have a gym, a media room or even a double garage.

Built of brick with exposed steel girders and full height Crittall windows the houses have been designed to be in keeping with neighbouring buildings in the area which once housed an iron foundry.

Sales and marketing director Rhiannon Durston said: “We are very excited to be working with Andrew on this scheme. It will set a new marker for really high quality, brilliantly designed, family sized housing in a really interesting part of the city centre.

“The care and attention to detail in design coupled with the superb internal specification will result in something very special in this characterful location.

“The houses will also be offered freehold which is a rarity and we know there is a demand for this level of property as city centre living becomes more sophisticated. We are taking registrations of interest now although we will not be bringing them to the market fully until the middle of 2022.” 

Andrew, who has stepped down from his architecture practice to concentrate on the town house project, said: “It is a labour of love. I have owned the site for 18 years and have explored every possible iteration for the layout. I did not want to compromise on anything from ceiling heights to bedroom layouts to the scale of the windows. For city living it was important the garages were big enough and each property has outside space and I am looking forward to starting on site.”
